Delicious Dips

You can use our mustard, mint sauce and horseradish sauce to make some lovely dips, nice and easy to make with lots of flavour. A great way to introduce the children to making simple recipes.

Raita | Serves 4 as a side dish

  • 8fl oz Natural yoghurt
  • Half a cucumber
  • 1 Tablespoon Welsh Mint Sauce
  • Half to a whole green chilli (optional)

Grate or finely chop the cucumber and squeeze to remove any excesss liquid. If you are going to add chilli - de-seed and finely chop. Mix together all of the ingredients and serve chilled with any curry or as a dip with poppadoms etc.


Tsatsiki | Serves 4 as a side dish

  • 8fl oz Natural yoghurt
  • Half a cucumber
  • 1 Tablespoon Welsh Mint Sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic

Grate the cucumber and squeeze to remove any excesss liquid. Crush and finely chop the garlic. Mix together all of the ingredients and serve chilled with crudités, kebabs, lamb dishes etc.


Horseradish Creme Fraiche | Serves 4 as a side dish

  • 8fl oz Creme Fraiche
  • 2 Tablespoon Horseradish Sauce

This couldn't be simpler just mix together and serve chilled with fish. It's delicious with smoked mackerel or trout and a crisp green salad.


Mustard Dip | Serves 4 as a side dish

  • 50% Mayonnaise
  • 50% Natural Yoghurt
  • Season with garlic, salt and ground pepper
  • Add Welsh Red Mustard to your own taste (the more you add the hotter it gets)

Another easy one! Just mix everything together, this recipe makes a great dip for crudités and also a great sauce for fish and a filling for sandwiches.


Mustard Sauce

This sauce to accompany your steak (beef or pork) is sure to impress any dinner guest...

  • 1 glass of port
  • 1 tablespoon of Welsh Mustard
  • 150ml (5 fl ozs) of single cream
  • Season with salt and ground pepper

Pan fry 2 steaks and remove them from the pan to the grill just before they are cooked to your liking. Add the port and mustard to the steak juices in the pan, mixing well. Turn down the heat and stir in the cream. Simmer for 2 - 3 minutes and pour over the steaks.
